Kotatsu Japanese Animation Festival

Wales’ premiere event for Japanese Animation takes place in Chapter between the 4th – 6th of October 2019.

The Kotatsu Japanese Animation Festival was created by organizer Mrs Eiko Ishii Meredith. Launched in November 2010 at Chapter Arts Centre in Cardiff, UK, the festival screens the best in Japanese animation and culture to a wide audience.
The festival features premieres of the best recent anime films plus a prize raffle, masterclass and workshop. There will also be some small stands giving you the opportunity to buy Japanese confection and art work by local artists.

Films being shown at the festival are:

Code Geass: Lelouch of the Resurrection 
Explosive mecha action and drama in this cinematic continuation of the Code Geass saga. Age rating unknown.

Birthday Wonderland
A family adventure where a shy girl is recruited to save a magical world. Age rating unknown.

Tamako Love Story
Life changes for two teens when they begin to consider their futures and their mutual love. Age rating unknown in UK, American rating is TV-14.

Fate / Stay Night – Heaven’s Feel I: Presage Flower
A teenager summons a magical servant to participate in the Holy Grail War. Age rating 15.

Calamity of a Zombie Girl
Students looking for treasure awaken deadly ancient mummies and have to fight for survival. Age rating unknown.

Penguin Highway
A boy investigates the mysterious appearance of an army of penguins in his sleepy town. Age rating unknown.

Eureka Seven Hi-Evolution
A teen is thrown into a mecha adventure when a giant robot crashes into his home. Age rating 15

A Silent Voice
A bully and his victim face the traumas of their shared past in order to heal themselves. Age rating 12.
